Terry I am so proud of you. You have helped ME in ways that I can not express fully…. and I bet you didn’t even know that you did that right? That was 4 years ago at Kevin’s viewing. You have a special gift and I was the lucky person who you helped with that gift that evening, which eventually changed the course of my life, and might well have saved it. To Shades of Hope Web Content Producer:
I think it might be wise to revise the language in the summary of this episode above. To state that Terry was “once a stunning model” suggests many thing I don’t think you want to suggest. It suggests that models (who are generally severely underweight and often eating disordered) are the ideal of beauty and that to have a non-model appearance is to be, by definition, a lesser, uglier, inherently undesirable. Just a suggestion, but language matters A LOT. In many ways, it shapes who we are, so I encourage you, as a recovery center (one of the very best) to be more careful with language. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
